Love GP

Have you guys always dread about having to go for GP lessons and cursing and swearing the person who invented English? Or always slept in GP lessons because it is way too boring? Or even give it up all together?

It is time to re-think everything. Let us imagine a world without English. Let us imagine a world where Hokkien is the dominant language. We would be speaking Hokkien, learning Hokkien and even doing Chemistry in Hokkien! Now, this may initially sound rather appealing because we may not have to study English any longer. But, have you ever wondered how the world would be if everyone uses Hokkien? Can you imagine the Channel 5 you adore so much is now a Hokkien channel? Can you imagine watching your favourite Tom Cruise from the Hollywood acting in Hokkien? Can you imagine the all-famous Star Wars in Hokkien? You can't? Let me help you:

Ok so are you convinced that English is still a better form of entertainment? NO? Did you say NO? Maybe I may not have fully brought my point across. English is considered a rather elegant language where it is easily accepted by the society. Hokkien, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. Even saying hello sounds vulgar. It just have the very rude feeling it gives the listener. Do we want that in our graceful society? How are we going to make good relationships with our partners if communication is already a major problem. Not convinced that Hokkien is a bad communication language? Take a look at Taiwan. Always fighting in the parliment because a casual comment was often mistakened to be a direct insult to another. Here is another example about how vulgar Hokkien can get:

After all the above analysis, I hope everyone will be convinced that English still remains as an integral part of our life. Love GP!

Feeling Fab!

Today's a wonderful day with Feeling Fab kick-start the entire string of activities! Didnt got to do a class activity this time round because the self-defense was too expensive. But it was really an enjoyable day without having to study and we got to do the various activities we wanted! Anyway, for the 8 of us who went windsurfing, it totally rocks!!!!

Next up was the release of PW results. Our class generally did quite well! (MY GROUP ROCKS!!!)

After that was Art Fest opening! It was rather boring to sit there for 2 hrs but overall the experience was still enjoyable. The most stupid thing was that we had to keep turning around to see the performances which were happening on both ends of the hall. Clean the floor with our butts. -__-

By the way, VJC just thrashed AC(international) 14-0!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeee!

Class Photoshoot for College Mag (Update)

Hi all,

you need to bring a tie on Monday for the photo shoot.

There will be one formal shoot, outside the PT, in front of the college crest. This will take place at 1.20pm. After that, we will proceed to the electives hub of our informal shot.

The Mag committee would like to use the informal photo for the magazine however, there are instances when the informal photo cannot be used, such as, some faces are hidden, ugly faces, indecent exposure, rude gestures.

Therefore, let's portray the fun and joyful look for our shoot!

See you on Monday!
Ms Cai

Class Photoshoot for the College Mag

Hi all,

our photo-taking happens next Monday, 6 Apr, at 1.20pm. I'm not sure where the formal shoot is or if we'll have one, but our informal shoot is at electives hub, where there is great lighting!

Do remember to iron your clothes when you come! =p

I hope everyone will be able to make it. Let me know (when u see me) if you can't. I'll see if I can change to another slot.

Cheers,
Ms Cai
